Come see one of the most magnificent hanging glaciers Skagway has to offer! A 1-hour train ride followed by a gently ascending hike along the Skagway river, through the pristine sub-alpine Tongass National Forest, to the Laughton Glacier. Here, the trail gets a little rougher and steeper as we hike over glacial erratics and moraines to get up onto the moving river of ice. This is your chance to actually stand on ancient glacier ice on one of the most unique tours offered in all of Alaska!
Everything is included, including waterproof, breathable rain gear, trekking poles, lumbar packs, water, nuts and candy bars. At the end of the tour our Backcountry Delights include locally smoked salmon pate, crackers and cold beverages. Passport required.
